Reunited: Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott Together Again
Parting is such sweet sorrow according to the Bard. But the sorrow has passed for two players who are also friends. As the song goes, “reunited and it feels so good.” Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott are together again. Elliott spent the 2023 season with the Patriots but didn’t really move the needle while he was there. However, he was primarily used for 3rd down and red zone situations behind starter Rhamondre Stevenson. So you can’t blame Elliott for the Patriots lackluster offensive performance. Needless to say he will be looking to return to his strong rushing ability back in Dallas.
Prescott is super excited to have Elliott return as he told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram:
“Super excited. Just obviously knowing our history, my experience with him as a brother, but, in this case, as a teammate, understanding what be brings to the team,” Prescott said on Wednesday. “Just the locker room alone, the culture he sets, a guy that does everything the right way from, from the locker room to the field.”
Prescott and Elliot both came into the league in 2016. The Telegram also pointed out the relationship between them. Stating that, ‘they played the first seven years of their career together and broke Cowboys records. And won three division titles, made four playoff appearances all while becoming close friends.’
So it makes sense that Prescott would want to have his friend back in the fold. He went on to say, “I mean, me and Zeke always talk,” said Prescott, “So it was, it was all excitement as soon as it was mentioned … nobody supported him more when he was up north.”

Having Elliott back on the team should prove to be helpful to the running back room. It is comprised of Rico Dowdle, Deuce Vaughn and a collection of runners (Royce Freeman, Snoop Conner, Malik Davis, and Nathaniel Peat) fighting for roster spots. With a young group like this, Elliott’s leadership could be the key to helping them gel together.
At any rate the duo is back together. Whether they become dynamic again remains to be seen. But according to Elliott he has, “unfinished business.” Saddle up Cowboys fans!
