Warriors Announced Kristaps Porzingis Remains Out Indefinitely—But back With Team

Some very encouraging news emerged for Golden State on Wednesday. Their center provided a health update after being missing in action during camp as well as preseason so far. Moreover, the Golden State Warriors also announced that Kristaps Porzingis remains out indefinitely, but that he is back with the team.

On Tuesday, head coach Steve Kerr had no update on Kristaps Porzingis’ condition, but said KP did meet with the medical staff in the Bay Area. However, 24 hours later, KP provided his own update. Additionally, Kristaps Porzingis released a statement online via social media. He also addressed some NBA Twitter allegations. Porzingis stated,

“Hello people, I’m working with doctors and experts to figure out how to be fully back to good health asap. Honestly, I’m getting better and better. I just have to stay patient, and I believe I’ll be feeling great again soon.

It has definitely been frustrating dealing with some health stuff that you can’t exactly pinpoint, on top of injuries throughout my career, so it has added up for sure, but we will get through it 💪🏼

Health is wealth. Thank you for all the support.

I appreciate all the internet doctors trying to diagnose and help, but I’m in the best hands. So everyone can relax now 😄🙏🏼 and I don’t have hiv or aids.”

Nice that Porzingis is medically in good hands and that he can handle social media discussion with a grain of salt. Nonetheless, Golden State also released a statement on the status of Kristaps Porzingis. The team announced that he is still OUT indefinitely. However, a status update will be provided whenever that may become available.

Warriors Announced Kristaps Porzingis Remains Out Indefinitely—But back With Team

The Warriors stated, “Golden State Warriors forward/center Kristaps Porzingis, who missed training camp and the team’s first five (5) preseason games due to a health-related matter, returned to the Warriors’ practice facility yesterday and met with Warriors General Manager Mike Dunleavy and Vice President of Player Health & Performance Dr. Rick Celebrini. The specific contents of that meeting will remain private. Porzingis will remain out indefinitely due to the same health-related matter but will be around the team. An update on his status, including the potential resumption of practice, playing status or timeline, will be provided when available and appropriate.”

So then, the Warriors have confirmed Kristaps Porzingis will remain out with a private health-related issue. Porzingis met with Mike Dunleavy and Rick Celebrini on Tuesday at Chase Center and will remain around the team.
