Giants Announce QB Jaxson Dart Questionable to Return Against Rams Due to Knee Injury
He plays hard. Works hard. Always puts his body on the line every play for his team. However, on Monday night his work day was cut short. The New York Giants say QB Jaxson Dart is questionable to return to Monday Night’s matchup against the Los Angeles Rams due to a knee injury.
Jaxson Dart went down hurt in the first quarter after taking a big hit on a throw downfield. He was crushed and sandwiched in the air. Dart was hit by Byron Young and Josaiah Stewart simultaneously, and it seemed like Stewart’s leg hit Dart’s left knee hard as they met.
Jaxon lands on the ground and discomfort is immediately all over his face. While on the ground Jaxson could be seen grabbing his left knee. The one positive after the played ended, Dart was able to limp to the medical tent.
After a brief examination Jaxson Dart emerged out of the blue medical tent and began walking back to the locker room. Dart was also able to walk to the locker room under his own strength after his knee injury. Backup Jameis Winston stepped in to handle quarterback duties.

Dr. Evan Jefferies who is the co-host of The Sports Rehab Show and is a NFL as well as NBA Injury Insider; commented on the play Jaxon went down on during New York’s first drive. Jefferies says,
“Jaxson Dart was injured on this play right here. Based on the mechanism the worry would be
-MCL of left knee
-possible meniscusHard to see if there is any rotation of the left knee so would need to rule out ACL. The only positive is that his left foot was in the air gives hope that it’s NOT ACL and likely MCL.”
Board certified orthopedic specialist and injury analyst, Tom Christ added, “Left knee injury on this play. Defender hits his knee from the outside. His foot briefly touches the ground but is not planted. This forced his knee into valgus which stresses the MCL. His foot was hardly on the ground so hopefully spares the ACL. Doubt he returns.”
