New York continues to try and find their footing in the race to the postseason. With injuries and bullpen woes the franchise is just looking for any and all additional pop. Nevertheless, the Yankees revealed, “Following tonight’s game, the Yankees optioned RHP Angel Chivilli, OF Jasson Domínguez and INF Anthony Volpe to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.”

So then, this means now the George Lombard Jr. era is set to begin. The Yankees are promoting their top prospect to the big leagues. George Lombard Jr., New York’s No. 1 and is ranked as MLB Pipeline’s No. 20 overall prospect.

This news regarding George’s promotion comes on the heels of New York trading for Luis Garcia Jr. before Monday’s trade deadline. Luis talked to media after the trade was official and was thrilled to be joining the Pinstripes. Garcia Jr. stated,

I was born here, so to be able to play for this team… I think everybody wants an opportunity to wear this jersey, these pinstripes and also to be able to play in front of my family, that means a lot.”
