NBA Releases 2026-2027 Schedule as Spurs and Pelicans Head to Paris and UK
The Commissioner was waiting for the LeBron sweepstakes to end so that the schedule for the upcoming basketball season could be completed. James became a 76er and now all matchups have been set and are a go. There’s some games that are sure to be absolutely CINEMA and the fun starts right from Opening Night. Here are a few highlights as the NBA releases the 2026-2027 schedule including the Spurs and Pelicans heading to Paris and the UK.
The 2026 Western Conference Finals series between the San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder averaged an enormous 10.83 million viewers per game on NBC and Peacock, finishing as the most-watched NBA Conference Finals in 24 years. Furthermore, Game 7 delivered 15.9 million viewers with a peak of 17.7 million, making it the most-watched conference finals game since 2016 and outdrawing the previous year’s NBA Finals average.
The NBA saw these numbers and fan excitement as well as online engagement; and decided, hey, let’s run it back. So on October 20th fans will be treated to a rematch between San Antonio and Oklahoma City. Along with LeBron and Jaylen taking on the reigning NBA champions, the New York Knicks. Jaylen Brown’s old team (the Celtics) will duke it out with the Detroit Pistons on that same Tuesday.
There will be new games on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday during Opening Week. So you’ll be able to get your basketball fix in daily. Some other matchups not to miss (Wednesday through Friday):
- Steph Curry and the Warriors battling Luka and the Los Angeles Lakers
- LeBron James as a 76er facing off versus Cleveland Cavaliers
- Jokic going against SGA
- Ant Man and the Wasp (the Wolves lol) going to war with Giannis and the Miami Heat
- The Texan Bowl—Wemby and the Spurs duel with the Houston Rockets
The NBA will also be heading to Europe. As the league continues its quest to increase its global presence. Two games featuring the New Orleans Pelicans and San Antonio Spurs will be played in Paris and the UK.
Now if you wish to see Victor and the San Antonio crew in action across the pond, there’s one slight scheduling matter to keep in mind. Especially, if you also love your NFL. As Pelicans beat writer, Jim Eichenhofer notes,
“As was the case last season (when it was Grizzlies vs. Magic), the teams in Europe are playing their two games on a Thursday and Sunday. In New Orleans, that Sunday game will start at 9:30 a.m. Central (btw, NFL playoffs wild card round is that weekend of Jan. 16-18).”
So something to note regarding this season’s international series.
