Wilson had the first 1,000-point season in 2024, when she set the WNBA single-season scoring record. Could one of the greatest in women’s basketball do it again? This season, the Las Vegas superstar answered loudly… YES. A’ja Wilson becomes the only player in WNBA history to record multiple 1,000-point seasons. While also remaining the fastest player to hit the milestone in just 39 games.
Yes, three time champion and two time Olympic gold medalist, A’ja Wilson; has done something historic. AGAIN. Becoming the first player in WNBA history with multiple 1,000-point seasons, reaching the mark in 2024 and now 2026.
Another interesting thing to note regarding Wilson. A’ja continues to be an offensive juggernaut and is steadily making her way up the all-time scoring ranking. In fact, Las Vegas Aces’ reigning MVP A’ja Wilson (6,740) is ONLY 64 points away from passing Sue Bird for 10th place on the WNBAs all time list. The Aces have 2 games remaining this season. A matchup versus the Los Angeles Sparks and a game against the Phoenix Mercury.
So then, if Wilson plays, she could get it done this year. We could see A’ja enter the top ten, knocking the great Sue Bird down into the top 20. Wild.
One last record that Wilson now holds also came on Sunday evening. One that most basketball fans probably didn’t even notice. Wilson broke the league record for free-throws made in a single season (259 and counting in 37 games) in the first half before finishing with 29 points.

The league’s single season free-throw record was previously held by Loyd, who made 254 free throws in 38 games while playing for the Seattle Storm during the 2023 season. Before that, Katie Smith’s record of 246 had stood since 2001.
Wilson entered Thursday’s game six free throws away from Loyd’s record, also holding the No. 3 and 5 spots on the league’s single-season free-throw list after she made 248 in 2025 and 233 in 2023. The regular season is longer than it was in 2023, as the league increased from 40 games to 44 in 2025 and will go to 50 games in 2027. That doesn’t impact Wilson’s record, as she missed three games this season due to a lower leg injury and load management.
