Nikola Jokic becomes the 1st player in NBA HISTORY to lead the league in rebounds and assists per game.
Nikola Jokic entered the final day of the regular season leading the NBA in rebounds per game (12.9) and assists per game (10.9) The stage was set for him to become the first player to lead the NBA in RPG and APG in a single season. Plus, the Denver franchise could keep their win streak alive with a victory over the San Antonio Spurs.
Well, Jokic and his teammates did not disappoint. The Nuggets close the regular season with their 12th victory in a row. Officially securing the Western Conference’s third seed. Furthermore, Jokic is now eligible for regular season awards; when you look over his stats, Nikola Jokic this season:

The National Basketball Association’s Public Relations Communications page briefly posted and addressed Nikola’s amazing milestone. Regarding making NBA history, the league revealed,
“Nikola Jokić is the first player to lead the NBA in both rebounds and assists per game in a season since 1969-70, when leaders began to be determined by per-game averages.
Wilt Chamberlain led the NBA in both categories in 1967-68, when leaders were determined by totals.”
