MLB Standings Reveal Six Teams Have Won 10 Games or More
The season is still young, but a picture is beginning to form as ball clubs slightly pull ahead of the rest of the pack. The MLB Standings reveal 6 teams have won 10 games or more. And all but two of these franchises are leading their divisions.
So then, which teams are now in the double digits when it comes to the win column? They are:
Los Angeles Dodgers
San Diego Padres
Pittsburgh Pirates
Atlanta Braves
Cleveland Guardians
Minnesota Twins
Most of the above organizations are not much of a surprise to see doing well. Almost all of these clubs made appearances in the 2025 postseason. Additionally, the Los Angeles Dodgers are the current defending World Series champions and seem like once again, the team to beat.
The blue men are rolling high with 12 wins so far this season. That is the most by any ball club in Major League Baseball; including both the American and National League. Furthermore, last season the Dodgers achieved the repeat, winning their second straight title in two years.
This season Los Angeles is attempting to accomplish what only two other teams have ever achieved in the history of American baseball. Only two MLB franchises have won three or more consecutive World Series, achieving this feat a total of four times. The New York Yankees hold the record with three separate streaks (1936-1939, 1949-1953, and 1998-2000), while the Oakland Athletics accomplished this once (1972-1974). Will the Dodgers add their name to this legendary list this season? We will have to wait and see.
The San Diego Padres may not have got off to the start they wanted this year. But they have rebounded beautifully and are now in the thick of the competition. They have won their last five games and aim to keep the streak the going as they play against the Seattle Mariners.
Furthermore, it’s nice to see Atlanta performing better. In 2025, Atlanta missed the postseason for the first time since the 2017 season. However, now the Braves are so far leading the NL East staying a game or two ahead of the Marlins and Phillies.
The Cleveland Guardians had one of the wildest roller coaster rides to get to the 2025 postseason. According to FanGraphs, the Guardians had a 2.9% chance to make the postseason and a 0.2% chance to win the AL Central on Sept. 1. Yet, they overcame adversity; becoming just the fourth team to reach the postseason in a season in which they had a 10-game skid. Well, it looks like the magic is continuing.
Guardians are at the top of the AL Central along with the Minnesota Twins. The Twins have won three straight and before this streak had won four in a row. They also just hammered the Red Sox putting up 11 runs in two innings in their 13-6 victory over Boston. Twins are looking strong.

Finally, the big surprise are the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Pirates finished dead last in their division with 71 wins last season. Their ace (Paul Skenes) was flawless all 2025, but now the team has got a much needed boost thanks to some great roster construction. With the additions of All-Star second baseman Brandon Lowe, All-Star first baseman/outfielder Ryan O’Hearn and veteran designated hitter Marcell Ozuna.
These teams have been fun to watch and observe. However, it is early. Will be interesting to see if these teams maintain their spots in the standings as the season progresses.
