Morant has career averages of 22.4 points and 7.4 assists. However, last season saw his production dip to 19.5 points while shooting career lows of 41.0% from the field and 23.5% from the 3-point line in the 20 games he played.
But as mentioned, this is a new start for Memphis and Morant. Memphis now enters a new era, headlined by Cameron Boozer, the No. 3 pick in the 2026 draft. While Ja now joins a young Blazers team fresh off its first playoff appearance since 2021 and headlined by breakout star Deni Avdija. Along with dynamic veterans, Jrue Holiday and Damian Lillard.
Morant is happy to have this new opportunity before him. A change in scenery may be what’s been needed. And maybe his new shoe is hinting at all the work he is currently putting into being ready this season.
