Minnesota Vikings’ General Manager Search is Over Hiring Former Seahawks Executive Nolan Teasley
There was some anxiety and uncertainty after the firing of former general manager Kwesi Adofo Mensa. It looked like the Vikings had a good head coach and GM combination until things went south for Mensa. The team thought it was best to move forward with new leadership, hence the need for a new general manager. After an extensive search a decision has been made. The Minnesota Vikings’ general manager search is over, hiring former Seattle Seahawks executive Nolan Teasley.
The news was first reported by NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero, he posted about it on x.com stating:
“The Vikings agreed to terms with Seahawks assistant GM Nolan Teasley as their general manager, sources tell NFL Network. Fresh off a Super Bowl win, Teasley — regarded as one of the NFL’s top young executives — now will try to bring a Lombardi Trophy to Minnesota.”
Teasley was hired as an intern by Seattle Seahawks general manager John Schneider in 2013. From there he climbed the corporate ladder, as a pro personnel scout from 2014-16. Then became assistant director of pro personnel in 2017. Followed by director of pro personnel from 2018-2022 and for the past four years was an assistant GM under John Schneider.
Teasley won the job over interim general manager Rob Brzezinski, who was also a candidate for the permanent job. However, Brzezinski will remain with the Vikings in his previous role as executive vice president of football operations.

With Teasley coming off a fresh Super Bowl win with the Seahawks over the New England Patriots, expectations are high. His scouting background differs from Mensa’s who had a more analytics-minded approach. Owner Mark Wilf said in March that he thought the team had a “great scouting staff, great coaching staff” and wanted to hire something to “fit within that.” The Vikings believe they have the best people in the right positions now with this hiring.
As for the team itself there is some uncertainty at the quarterback position. Currently former Cardinals’ quarterback Kyler Murray is now competing with incumbent JJ McCarthy for the starting job. Whoever does win the position battle will go to war with seasoned wide receiver Justin Jefferson. So, it will be up to Teasley to get the ship righted after a 9-8 season in 2025. The good news is that they were on a five-game winning streak to close out the season. We’ll see if Teasley can continue to keep things going in the right direction.
