Atlanta Dream Forced a Historic 2026 WNBA Finals Game 7
With their backs against the wall they got the job done. And they did it with a performance of pure domination. Thursday afternoon, the Atlanta Dream forced a historic 2026 WNBA Finals Game 7!
The Dream defeated the Golden State Valkyries 80–69 on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at State Farm Arena. The victory tied the best-of-seven series at 3–3 and forced the first-ever Game 7 in WNBA Finals history. ATL’s Big 3 showed up and showed out.
The Dream’s Allisha Gray led Atlanta with 23 points (including 5-of-7 from 3-point range). Meanwhile, Rhyne Howard added 21 points, and Angel Reese contributed 15 points and 14 rebounds.
Gray’s performance is especially impressive given the health issues she has suffered this entire postseason. Allisha has been battling since injuring multiple fingers on her left hand in Game 1 of the semifinals and needing a “minor procedure” to correct the problem. As one can imagine, this has impacted her shooting abilities. However, Allisha has refused to give up and has been exactly what her team has needed.
Regarding her efforts to help force a Game 7, Gray said,
“I am just locked in. It’s Game 6 — win or go home. I didn’t want to go home. … We have a championship to win.
Shots were falling today, so I will take that. … My teammates did challenge me, and I do believe I stepped up to the challenge. In Game 7, I can’t take my foot off the gas. I feel I can take it up to another level.”

However, it wasn’t just Gray’s offense that had Golden State off-balanced. Allisha was truly solid on both sides of the ball. Gray also recorded two steals and three blocks, and she held the Valkyries to 2-of-17 shooting as the primary defender. Truly, was the star of the game.
Now, the Dream look forward to Saturday night. 40 minutes will decide all. Their Game 6 performance not only saved their season, but it forced a Game 7 this weekend at Ballhalla in San Francisco at 8 p.m. ET. “Our job is not done,” Reese said. “We definitely could be happy about it, but we have more work to do. We have another level that we can get to.”
