Allisha Gray Underwent Minor Procedure on Left Hand—Day-to-Day Heading into WNBA Finals

A lot of excitement and enthusiasm continues to build for the 2026 WNBA Finals. A series that will see a matchup between the Atlanta Dream as well as the Golden State Valkyries. And the Dream may see the return of a vital roster piece they have been missing. The Dream’s Allisha Gray reveals that she underwent a minor procedure on her left hand and is still considered day-to-day for the Dream heading into the WNBA Finals.

So there’s a small possibility. And Atlanta is preparing for either outcome. They will be facing the league’s number one defense that swept the reigning champions, the Las Vegas Aces (and this year’s MVP A’ja Wilson); therefore, all offense threats need to be on the court.

Sports anchor/reporter, Alison Mastrangelo of Metro Atlanta’s WSB-TV reported on Gray’s condition and injury status. Alison revealed,

“NEW: Allisha Gray told me she is day to day. She had a minor procedure on her left hand. She wouldn’t say what or if it was surgery, just that she’s day to day.

Rhyne Howard and Allisha Gray are making their WNBA finals debut this weekend. Gray who missed several games with a left hand injury is going through shooting drills you can see her left ring finger and pinky tapped together.”

“Progress is great,” Gray told WSB-TV when asked whether she’d play in Game 1. “As of right now just day-to-day, and you’ll see.”

Nice. So a very positive update and sight with Gray getting in some practice reps before the Finals commence. In other Dream news, after fan demand skyrocketed the league announced that Atlanta’s games will be moved from Gateway Arena to State Farm Arena. Going from a venue that held just 3500 to one that will hold 17,000.

The move will provide more opportunity for Atlanta fans to support and watch the Dream contend for a title. Angel Reese spoke to Alison Mastrangelo about the venue change. Reese states, “It’s a bittersweet moment because I do love Gateway so much….but I am looking forward to everyone showing up and supporting us at State Farm.”
