Steph Curry On Social Media Chatter That Warriors’ Front Office Hasn’t Done Enough
On social media this past offseason you may have seen plenty of ideas by fans of where number 30 should end his career. San Antonio was a favorite, the Miami Heat was thrown out onto the table, along with the Celtics and Hornets. However, in the end the greatest shooter decided to stay in the Bay. Now, Steph Curry is discussing the social media chatter that the Warriors’ front office hasn’t done enough to build a competitive team around him.
“FREE STEPH.” Or “LEAVE STEPH.” Have been common sentiments heralded online by basketball fans that feel Steph still has something in the tank. And that he should take his talents to a team that is more constructed to win now.
Winning number five is something that appeals to Steph and basketball enthusiasts. However, for the past several seasons the Warriors have struggled just to get into the postseason or stay free of injury. With GSW’s roster often being viewed as not strong enough to contend with the highly competitive west… that includes the Thunder, Spurs, Nuggets and Lakers.

However, Steph says he has “had a really amazing career and journey.” So he is content with whatever the results will be as he finishes his tenure in the NBA. Curry told NBC Sports Bay Area,
“I mean, I’m not an idiot. I know what it means in the sense of that window we had where coming off of ‘22, there were opportunities to get better, add new talent, and some worked out, some didn’t. And the jury is still out on how we end this entire journey with a competitive mindset. We knew there’s never really going to be a scenario where you’re going to be in the favorites conversation from a championship-contending perspective. There’s so many great teams out there. But for us to go through a year like we did last year where we had, and the year before in the playoffs, I get hurt, we take an early exit in second round. Last year, I missed 40 whatever games. Availability was the biggest theme and we’re still one game away from getting to a playoff run and who knows what happens. So, all that to say, I’ve had a really amazing career and journey. I want to win. All the other chatter doesn’t necessarily matter to me in terms of how I grade our seasons.”
So at full health, Stephen Curry thinks the Warriors should not be counted as “out” the running. That when healthy there’s a possibility to make a run. Nonetheless, Steph wants to win another title, but he doesn’t listen to outside opinions coming from online.
