Walt Disney Studios Unveils Trailer and Posters For ‘Portrait of an Artist: Stephen Curry

Walt Disney Studios has officially unveiled the trailer and posters for ‘Portrait of an Artist: Stephen Curry, a documentary opening exclusively in IMAX theaters.
Portrait of An Artist focuses on Curry’s historic March 13, 2025, game against the Sacramento Kings. Where he once again cemented his legacy. Becoming the first NBA player to hit 4,000 career three-pointers in a 130-104 Warriors win.
Directed by Gotham Chopra, the film uses 21 IMAX cameras to blend that moment with Curry’s reflections. Stephen Curry discusses his upbringing and mindset when it comes to the game and shooting. The documentary also incorporates insights from artists like Viola Davis, Rick Rubin, Patti Smith, and Jon Batiste.
Walt Disney Studios announced the trailer via social media. In one posting the entertainment giant briefly declared, “Witness the story behind the man that changed the game. Portrait of an Artist: Stephen Curry opens exclusively in IMAX theaters beginning October 9.”
In the Portrait of An Artist trailer, Stephen Curry can also be heard uttering the following commentary,
“I’ve been around basketball my whole life. But the more I played, the more I started to see it differently. For me, it’s never just been a game. It’s always felt more like an art.
This is what I was meant to do.”

The National Basketball Association said it best when it comes to the four time champion and MVP. Stephen Curry is, “An artist obsessed with constantly perfecting his craft.”
Steph’s documentary will feature home videos from when Curry was a baby. The cinematic sports masterpiece follows him through his early basketball career and into the spotlight. And, through the lenses of IMAX cameras, it will show the fateful night he made history.
Filmgoers will get a chance to explore additional perspectives from across the fields of acting, music and more. Discovering how audiences are drawn to the greats throughout history, including on the basketball court.
