PlayStation Introduces Prism Collection With Three New Transparent Designs for PS5 Accessories
So basically friends, the 90s are BACK. While it may not cause some gamers to forget about their quest to get PlayStation to bring back physical disks and copies of games. The gaming giant is still doing a solid of job of helping video game enthusiasts have a strong nostalgia moment. If you have loved see-through everything throughout the years then you will want this latest drop. PlayStation introduces the Prism Collection with three new transparent designs for PS5 accessories.
Therefore, an icon returns. Over two decades ago PlayStation blessed the masses with a translucent masterpiece of a design. The brand famously dropped the transparent DualShock controller sold for the original PlayStation back in 1998.
Sony says they know how much fans have been looking forward to the return of these controllers. So they wanted to bring them back with a modern twist.
Regarding the sleek, multicolored see-through controllers PlayStation reveals,
“Get ready to see your PS5 console and DualSense controller in a whole new way. Today, we are pleased to introduce the Prism Collection, featuring three striking transparent designs for DualSense wireless controllers and PS5 console covers: Flare Orange, Emerald Green, and Graphite Gray.
The new collection was inspired by our design teams’ interest to bring a transparent appearance to PS5, and give players a closer look into the design and craftsmanship behind our DualSense controllers and PlayStation 5 consoles. From bold Flare Orange to elegant Emerald Green and stylish Graphite Gray, each color is finished with a premium glossy sheen for a sleek and elevated design.”
Satoshi Aoyagi from the Color, Material, and Finish design team. Also, released statement on the new accessories. Aoyagi tells PS5 users,
The high-gloss clear finish extends across the back of the controller, offering a look at the technology that powers the DualSense controller while maintaining a sleek, monochromatic look.
The metallic finish on the middle cover brings the contrasting surfaces together for a premium appearance that feels consistent with the PS5 generation.
To complement the futuristic aesthetic, we carefully selected three distinct colors: a vibrant orange that subtly takes on a rosy hue where the transparent material overlaps, a deep hunter green that gains depth through its transparency, and a cool-toned storm gray.”

Starting November 10, 2026 at 7:00am PT / 10:00am ET, players in the U.S. will be able to pre-order the Prism Collection direct from PlayStation through direct.playstation.com.
The Prism Collection DualSense wireless controllers will be available globally for a recommended retail price (RRP) of $84.99 USD / ¥12,480 (including tax) / €84.99 / £74.99.
The matching PS5 console covers will be available exclusively directly from PlayStation where available and in other regions in limited quantities through select retailers for a RRP of $74.99 USD / ¥9,980(including tax) / €74.99 / £64.99.
