Apple TV Launches Their Immersive Vision Pro Broadcast for Dodgers-Giants Rivalry

Now you can strap on gear like a catcher and get an extremely immersive experience! Major League Baseball and Apple TV are trying a little something different to help usher in perhaps… one of the main future methods of watching sports broadcasts. Apple TV launches their immersive Vision Pro broadcast for the Dodgers-Giants rivalry.

Starting in 1889, the Dodgers and Giants quickly became one of the fiercest rivalries in the league. Commencing when the teams played in neighboring New York boroughs (Brooklyn and Manhattan). The teams have played more than 2,500 times, making it one of the oldest and most played rivalries in American sports.

Flash forward to today and there is still no love lost between the two fandoms. The difference is now you can get the chance to view more of this longtime feud. By seeing the hardcore action and intensity like never before.

Apple TV has rolled out an immersive Friday Night Baseball broadcast on Apple Vision Pro. The broadcast’s “special view” was available for September 18th’s Giants-Dodgers game. Viewers got a chance to experience the game in 8K with a 180-degree field of view and spatial audio. The broadcast also utilizes unique angles from 14 hidden iPhone 18 Pro cameras around Dodger Stadium so that Fans get on-field perspectives from dugouts. Making it seem like they are right behind home plate or on the sides like a sideline reporter!

As most MLB fans know, seats directly behind home plate are typically the most expensive tickets in a baseball stadium. With prices climbing much higher for marquee matchups or postseason games. So then, with the Apple Vision Pro you can enjoy the same view right from the comfort of your own home, or anywhere.

So then, imagine kicking back with 8K VR baseball and a nice cold one. Of course though, this particular option comes with a catch. The price.

The starting price for the Apple Vision Pro is $3,699 from the Apple Store. Furthermore, Apple previously updated the original headset line with an M5 chip upgrade, but the overall heavy form factor and high price tag ($3,499) remained the same. Therefore, some might not find the device (or price) comfortable. But this is still a very innovative option to help get fans closer to the game.
