We are just days away from the official release of the latest edition in NHL gaming. Here’s a few tidbits to note before the drop in about a week’s time. First off, NHL 27 is basically a tribute to classic rock music.
NHL 27’s soundtrack is so good. Very energetic and fun and basically just one big rock record playing for your listening pleasure.
For instance, EA has loaded the game with Pantera’s “Puck Off,” the Dallas Stars goal anthem the band cut back in the 90s, alongside Motley Crue’s “Kickstart My Heart,” KISS doing “Rock And Roll All Nite” and Nickelback’s “Burn It To The Ground.” The Offspring, Wolfmother, Bush, The Used, Panic! At The Disco, Joe Satriani and Andrew W.K. all made the exclusive cut as well.
Seriously, the soundtrack had no business going this hard. But we thank EA for deciding to bless our eardrums with this musical feast. EA Sports NHL announced the NHL 27 soundtrack via social media. The gaming giant briefly heralded, “The soundtrack to NHL27 is here. 🎧 Goal songs. Arena anthems. Hockey classics.”
Speaking of goal songs, when it comes to the music aspect of this NHL video game title; NHL 27 will also feature the NHL Jets’ accurate goal song, “Gonna Celebrate” by The Phantoms. Winnipeg has used the song since the 2017-18 season, but it has never previously been featured in an EA Sports NHL game.

Now, when it comes to the game itself, you will have the ability to create a league with friends. Plus, manage your roster, and compete head-to-head across a full online season with up to 32 human-controlled teams, flexible settings, schedules, and commissioner tools.
Additionally, a new commentary team featuring ESPN play-by-play voice John Buccigross and former NHL goaltender Darren Pang brings fresh perspective, energy, and insight to every game. So then, get ready to experience all 32 NHL arenas rebuilt with each team’s energy, traditions, and identity, from goal songs, chants, and signature details to dynamic lighting, jumbotrons, and presentation that reacts to every matchup.
