Kroenke Sports Entertainment Set to Acquire the Angels
The Kroenke sports empire continues to grow and expand. The latest franchise addition will also now root the Kroenke brand in Major League Baseball. On September 1 (2026), it was announced that Kroenke Sports Entertainment is set to acquire the Angels. Stan Kroenke & Kroenke Sports and Entertainment have entered into a definitive agreement to acquire a controlling interest in the Los Angeles Angels from Arte Moreno. Kroenke will now own controlling interests in the Rams (NFL), Angels (MLB), Nuggets (NBA), Avalanche (NHL) and Arsenal.
Arte Moreno made the official announcement regarding Stan Kroenke and KSE stating,
“The Angels organization is pleased to announce this transaction with Kroenke Sports & Entertainment. The Moreno Family has been honored to steward the Angels for 23 years and we believe with KSE’s experience and success they are the best next owner for the franchise. The Angels organization looks forward to continuing its commitment to the fans, our employees, the players and our business partners.”
Superstar Mike Trout and other players are already extremely thrilled about moving forward with Kroenke as the team’s new owner. Mike Trout on the Angels sale, says:
“I mean, you kind of felt that way, it was needed. No hard feelings to Arte. But I’m super excited. The guys are excited. There’s a good vibe around the clubhouse, vibe around the stadium.”
There is a lot to be excited about. Stan has an excellent and incredible track record as an owner. His teams have won championships in the NFL, NBA and NHL. Furthermore, in the five major U.S. sports, Kroenke’s teams have won multiple championships under his ownership and leadership. Kroenke has also found success in European football, as Arsenal won the Premier League in the 2025/2026 season and Arsenal W.F.C. won the UEFA Women’s Champions League in the 2024/2025 season.
Kroenke Sports Entertainment Set to Acquire the Angels
The last time the Los Angeles Angels won the World Series was in 2002. Stan will no doubt work tirelessly hard to bring the Angels back into contention. Additionally, plans include for the new Angels owner Stan Kroenke to build a new $2.5B ballpark to replace Angel Stadium.
Kroenke is excited to get going and hopeful for the ball club’s future. Stan briefly mentioned, “The Angels are a storied franchise anchored in a great market. We look forward to an exciting future with the Angels organization.”
