Giants QB Jaxson Dart Suffered Knee Injury on Monday Night That Could Be Season-Ending
The Giants’ core now faces another setback. Further examination and evaluation has revealed an early season nightmare for the franchise. New York Giants QB Jaxson Dart suffered a knee injury on Monday night that could be season-ending. After a MRI, Dart’s knee injury appears to be worse than anticipated.
There was hope last night. But that hope has now all but diminished and disappeared. New developments have seemed to drop every other hour since the incident occurred. Ranging from Dart wanted to still play, Jaxon will be out for weeks; till now an extended period. In case you missed all the events surrounding Dart’s injury; NFL Spotlight’s Ari Meirov recapped everything.
Giants fans went through an emotional roller coaster with Jaxson Dart’s injury:
1) It immediately looked serious.
2) Someone apparently told John Harbaugh on the sideline it was 4-6 weeks.
3) GM Joe Schoen told ESPN during the broadcast that Dart would be okay.
4) Dart reportedly wanted to return to the game.
5) Now… he might miss the entire season.
So then, quite a number of events. Nevertheless, ESPN’s Adam Schefter broke the unfortunate injury update regarding Jaxon Dart stating,
“Breaking: Further testing today revealed Giants QB Jaxson Dart’s knee injury is worse than initially thought, and the team and Dart now are facing the possibility of season-ending knee surgery, sources tell ESPN.
Of all the QB injuries suffered in Week 2, Dart’s is turning out to easily be the most significant.
The Giants were riding high after Week 1, when Jaxson Dart went 23-of-29 for 230 yards with 3 TDs and 0 INTs in a win over the Cowboys.
Now, after Week 2, he might be done for the season.
A gut punch.”
Giants QB Jaxson Dart Suffered Knee Injury on Monday Night That Could Be Season-Ending
The Giants have suffered a brutal string of significant injuries to young stars in recent years, including Jaxson Dart, Malik Nabers, Cam Skattebo, Andrew Thomas, Daniel Jones and Saquon Barkley. It is starting to feel like a yearly occurrence. For instance, during just the last two seasons:
2025 Giants:
– Lose Cam Skattebo for season
– Lose Malik Nabers for season
2026 Giants:
– Lose Jaxson Dart for season
And it is only moving towards Week 3. Hopefully, the rest of New York’s roster can remain healthy. However, losing Jaxon is a huge blow. The core the Giants were banking on can’t seem to stay on the field.
In fact, the Giants trio of Jaxson Dart, Malik Nabers and Cam Skattebo have been on the field together for only 3.5% of the team’s total offensive plays in the last 2 seasons: 43 of 1,208 offensive plays.
