Bears QB Caleb Williams Helped Off the Field With an Apparent Hamstring Injury Vs. Vikings
It had been a very low scoring game. Chicago found themselves still only down by three. But then, the injury bug decided to bite. Chicago Bears QB Caleb Williams was helped off the field after going down with an apparent hamstring injury in the 4th quarter vs. the Vikings.
The Bears 2024 No.1 pick Caleb Williams went down after a non-contact injury in the final quarter of the game. Around seven and half minutes remained on the clock. With the Minnesota Vikings being up just 6-3. However, upon going to the ground, Williams immediately grabbed at his leg and it did not look good.
Caleb laid on his back before finally rolling over; with yells being audibly clear. He looked to be in immense pain. And not quite able to put full pressure on the leg in question once finally helped to his feet. ESPN’s NFL insider Adam Schefter provided an extremely brief update on Caleb Williams. He also mentioned who would replace Williams in the matchup against the Vikings. Schefter revealed, “Tyson Bagent has replaced the injured Caleb Williams. Bears say Caleb Williams suffered a hamstring injury.”
Williams was helped off the field by medical personnel. He eventually would be carted away in order to receive more care and to be further evaluated. Caleb sat on the cart with a towel over his head; obviously upset and emotional over the injury. However, the Chicago crowd refused to allow Caleb to leave without hearing their appreciation for his efforts and to know they are behind him. The crowd roared with applause as the cart transported Williams inside.

Williams obviously felt the support of the crowd. Before entering the tunnel he removed the towel from his head and face. Raised his fist in the air repeatedly, only hyping up the crowd further. Giving the audience a reassuring thumbs up on his way in.
Conditions for the game had been wet and rainy. With both teams playing hard regardless. Caleb Williams completed 15 of 26 passes for 138 yards. The Bears had a red zone opportunity to get the “W” but could not convert. In the end the Vikings would get the victory over the Bears, winning 9-3.
BUT GOOD NEWS, or at least a good sign. According to Bears reporter Adam Jahns, “Bears QB Caleb Williams came through the locker room while the media was present. He was walking under his own power, no crutches or anything, maybe a slight limp.”
