Yankees Do Not Expect to Have Aaron Judge Available For The Wild Card Series

It has not been a good year health wise for New York’s captain. And now more disappointing news is emerging that affects the postseason. It was confirmed on Tuesday morning that the Yankees do not expect to have Aaron Judge available for the Wild Card series next week, manager Aaron Boone said. Therefore, the feeling is that Aaron Judge is likely out for the AL Wild Card Series against the Boston Red Sox.

Aaron Judge was recently placed on the injured list with a right calf strain Friday and received a PPP injection Monday. For this reason, the Yankees are not planning on Aaron Judge being available.

ESPN Baseball reporter, Jorge Castillo on the latest developments regarding Judge and the New York Yankees mentions,

“Aaron Judge was placed on the injured list with a right calf strain. Jazz Chisholm Jr. will be activated between games today, Aaron Boone said.

Aaron Boone said Aaron Judge has a “moderate grade” strain and he doesn’t expect to have him available for the Wild Card series but also not ruling it out. Boone said Judge received a PPP injection yesterday.”

Tuesday morning, sports injury analyst, Dr. Jesse Morse, who specializes in health optimization utilizing peptides and stems cells; commented on Aaron Judge’s calf injury and form of treatment. Dr. Morse says,

Aaron Judge dealing with a grade 2 soleus (calf) strain.

These usually take 6-8 weeks to return to play.

Sometimes you can push them to 3-4 weeks with super potent stem cells.

If PPP was truly chosen, that is an interesting choice as this is the ‘weaker’ part of PRP.

I would have chosen an amniotic tissue allograft + Exosomes but I’m not sure those are legal in NY/CT.

I’m not sure Judge plays again this season.”

So then, some pretty massive news before the Red Sox and Yankees go to war a week from today. When it comes to Judge’s availability when the postseason begins; the answer so far is not likely. Hopefully, Aaron Judge is able to heal up fast, or his injury ends up not being so severe. Seeing him in the playoffs would be nice, but health always comes first.

SNY MLB insider Chelsea Janes states, “Boone said Judge has a “moderate” strain in the calf. Said the grade doesn’t matter because if he is able to play, he will play. But no activity for the next few days after the injection.”
