The Toronto Tempo have acquired Connecticut Sun forward Aneesah Morrow in a trade that’s sending the rights to Maria Kliundikova and a 2028 second-round pick to Connecticut. This trade should be completed pending a physical assessment over the next 48 hours.
The Toronto Tempo confirmed their move regarding Morrow on Friday morning. The franchise took to social media to herald the news. In a photo post the organization captioned it stating, “Welcome to the Tempo, Aneesah! The Toronto Tempo have officially acquired Aneesah Morrow.”
Toronto went on to discuss the full details of the trade along with additional roster moves. The team reveals,
“The Toronto Tempo have acquired Aneesah Morrow in exchange for a second round Draft Pick in 2028 and the rights to Maria Kliundikova.
In a corresponding move, the team has waived guard Tima Pouye.”
Tempo fans will be happy that Marina Mabrey is getting some additional help. Mabrey became an All-Star for the first time in her career this year after putting up a 53-point game. Thus, tying with A’ja Wilson for most points scored during a single regular season game.
Nonetheless, Aneesah is having herself a very good season as well. Almost averaging a double-double so far scoring buckets and being a bonafide glass cleaner. Review her 2026 stats and Morrow is averaging (11.6) points and (8.9) rebounds per game this season. She heads to Toronto after recording back-to-back 21-point performances in her last two games.
Furthermore, both Morrow and Mabrey already have a great working relationship as well as team chemistry. Due to the fact that both Aneesah and Marina played together on the Connecticut Sun. So then, number 3 and 24 have reunited in Toronto.
