Tennessee Titans and Defensive Tackle Jeffery Simmons Agreed to New Extension

Their quarterback was the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. However, the offensive side of the ball needed some help last season. But that hasn’t stopped them from shoring up the defensive side of the ball. This offseason they have added pass rusher Jermaine Johnson II and cornerback Alontae Taylor. They also selected defensive end Keldric Faulk and linebacker Anthony Hill in the 1st and 2nd rounds of the 2026 NFL Draft. Now bolstering the defense, the Tennessee Titans and defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons have agreed to a new extension.

As reported by NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo, Titans and Simmons agreed to a three-year, $105.8 million contract extension that includes $100 million guaranteed. The new extension makes Simmons makes him the highest-paid defensive tackle in league history. Rapoport also went on to say that signing Simmons was a priority for the organization, compensating him properly picked up steam the last few days. And now Simmons has been officially extended.

Commenting on the extension, Simmons released the following statement:

“Tennessee has become a second home for me,” Simmons said in a statement released by the team. “From day one, this organization believed in me, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to continue to pour into this franchise and community. I want to thank God, my family, my teammates, Ms. Amy [Adams Strunk] and the entire Titans organization for believing in me. My job isn’t finished. I believe in this locker room and this staff, and I’m focused on helping this team get back to competing for championships.”

Simmons is a four-time Pro Bowl selection, a five-time captain, and a three-time Community Man of the Year winner for the Titans. He had a career-high 11 sacks in 2025 along with 60 quarterback pressures, 67 tackles, 17 tackles for a loss and three forced fumbles.

His value to the team is unquestionable. Hence the Titans general manager Mike Borgonzi had the following to say about him:

“Jeffery Simmons is a pillar for our franchise and embodies what it means to be a Titan. He’s the premier defensive tackle in the National Football League and you win with players like Jeffery. Not only is his leadership on the field what we want our program to represent, but off the field, he sets the standard for our community. I’d like to thank Todd France and AJ Stevens with Athletes First for their communication and efforts to get this deal done. I’d also like to thank Vin Marino, Leland Taylor and Dave Gardi for spearheading negotiations that resulted in a win for everyone. This wouldn’t be possible without the support of Amy and the Adams family. You always want to keep your best players and we accomplished that today. We’re excited for Jeffery to be here in Nashville for the long haul.”

Over his seven seasons with the Titans, Simmons has had a tremendous defensive impact. And he will continue to do so going forward. Congratulations Jeffrey Simmons on your new contract!
