Seattle Seahawks Are Signing All-Pro CB Trevon Diggs to One-Year Deal
We are just three short weeks from the commencement of the NFL 2026-2027 season. The 2026 NFL regular season officially begins on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, with the kickoff game featuring the Seattle Seahawks hosting the New England Patriots at Lumen Field at 8:20 p.m. ET. Nonetheless, just 21 days out and the Seattle Seahawks are still making some great moves. The Seattle Seahawks are signing All-Pro CB Trevon Diggs to a one-year deal. Diggs spent the end of last season with the Packers.
ESPN’s NFL insider, Adam Schefter broke the news Wednesday morning. Confirming the signing of Trevon while also providing an update as well as explanation regarding Terrion Arnold. Adam reported,
“Source: Former Cowboys two-time Pro-Bowl CB Trevon Diggs is signing a one-year deal with the Seattle Seahawks.
Seattle still plans to sign former Lions CB Terrion Arnold, but he also is expected to spend time on the Commissioner Exempt List.”
Trevon and Terrion no doubt have the stuff to provide the Super Bowl Champs more help on defense. Diggs, who’s still just 27 years old, has 20 career INTs and 63 passes defensed and is set to compete for a role in a secondary dealing with injuries.
The Seahawks are hoping that this signing of former All-Pro cornerback Trevon Diggs proves to be a missing piece. Diggs will add an experienced veteran to the competition at that spot. Receiver Julian Hicks, who signed earlier in the week, was waived to make room on the 90-man roster.
Diggs, a 2020 second-round pick out of Alabama, was a starter for the Cowboys as a rookie, and in his second season, he earned first-team All-Pro and Pro-Bowl honors after leading the NFL with 11 interceptions, the highest single-season total in the NFL since 1981.

Trevon has unfortunately had to deal with injury and now finds himself moving through franchises. Trevon’s 2023 season was cut short after just two games due to an ACL injury. Then he was limited to 11 games in 2024 due to injuries.
Last season, Diggs appeared in eight games with six starts for the Cowboys before being waived late in the season. He was then claimed off waivers by Green Bay, appearing in the regular-season finale as well as Green Bay’s wild-card loss to the Bears. Diggs now hopes to find a solid spot in the Seahawks organization (sidebar: Trevon could play Stefon and Commanders Week 3). Nonetheless, as one can see Seattle is working hard to strengthen and shore up defensively in order to remain a competitive threat and add to their championship collection.
