Ravens Coach Jesse Minter Rules Out QB Lamar Jackson Against the Atlanta Falcons
One of the most anticipated matchups of the week will be missing a star. Baltimore Ravens coach Jesse Minter rules out QB Lamar Jackson against the Atlanta Falcons. Jackson is being ruled out of Sunday night’s game at Atlanta with a left ankle injury.
The Ravens will be without their highest-paid players on offense (Lamar Jackson) and defense (Trey Hendrickson) for Sunday night Football’s game against ATL. WR Zay Flowers (foot) and CB Marlon Humphrey (hamstring/calf) are questionable but both expected to play.
Things started taking shape as well as leaning towards Baltimore’s current injury situation by midweek. On Wednesday several Ravens were missing during practice. Nonetheless, at the time Ravens coach Jesse Minter said Lamar Jackson is in the category of players who don’t have to practice and can still play Sunday. However, as the week progressed, Jackson and others still did not participate.
For instance, the Ravens had four players not present during media viewing of Thursday’s practice:
QB Lamar Jackson (ankle)
OLB Trey Hendrickson (finger)
CB Marlon Humphrey (calf/hamstring)
C Cam Jurgens (concussion)
Additionally, it was noted that Hendrickson was observing off to the side. Furthermore, eventually it was confirmed that Lamar Jackson (ankle) would be ruled out for Sunday’s game versus the Falcons in Week 5.
The Baltimore Ravens decided to make QB Tyler Huntley available after Friday’s practice. Tyler Huntley said he was told that he’ll start. Believes that his past experiences in this spot should help. Huntley regarding starting Sunday night said, “It’s just like riding a bike.”

The Ravens are behind Huntley as well. Confident that he will do a solid job filling in for Lamar. Derrick Henry on why the Ravens have confidence in backup QB Tyler Huntley, he says: “You watch the Green Bay game from last year? Put the tape on.” Nonetheless, if you do roll video back to Week 17 of last season, you’ll see Huntley competed 16 of 20 passes in a 41-24 victory at Lambeau.
Furthermore, Falcons beat reporter Kevin Knight sums things up stating, “The Ravens are one of the best team’s in the NFL with Lamar Jackson. With Tyler Huntley, they’re still a competent and well-coached unit. Defense is above-average and the best run D Atlanta has faced. They’re banged up, but still dangerous. Falcons must take them seriously.”
