Minnesota Vikings Are Signing Veteran WR Odell Beckham Jr. to Practice Squad
He started the season with a reunion with the New York Giants; but was then suddenly released. However, the veteran wide receiver has already found a new home. The Minnesota Vikings are signing veteran WR Odell Beckham Jr. to their practice squad. So then, it is a fresh start for OBJ, who now joins fellow LSU star Justin Jefferson in Minnesota.
Very recently, Odell Beckham Jr. expressed frustration and felt used by the New York Giants after they released him on September 29, 2026, following just three games and zero receptions. The Super Bowl champ, who first played for the Giants from 2014 to 2018 before stints with the Cleveland Browns, Los Angeles Rams, Baltimore Ravens and Miami Dolphins, responded in the comments section of a NFL fan (Braden Castro). The instagram posting was a rant of Castro upset on how New York handled and ended things with OBJ. Odell Beckham Jr. himself replied,
“I’m super smart !!!! But I didn’t see this one my brotha! They got me!!! They won on top of the money you talking about bout. [I] came in HUMBLY and EARNED my spot. Part of me is like I should have known better.
Now let me tell you the real deal truth what hurt my heart to the core is coming home and seeing my son and how happy he was with no idea of what happened and talking about my job and jersey number 13 broke me [expletive] down.
[They] gave me the run along… I coulda really been playing this year somewhere and making a impact and I mean that from a person whose humbled by God and life, so all I’m doing is gettin ready for whatever God has for me and spreading love in the meantime.”

The split from the Giants caused OBJ some frustrating pain. But he is already landing onto his feet. Odell Beckham Jr. is signing with Minnesota and he will wear number 9, per the team website.
ESPN and NFL Network insider, Ian Rapaport confirms, “The Vikings are signing WR Odell Beckham Jr to their practice squad, a move that adds veteran depth to the WR room and is a reunion with Kevin O’Connell and others who were with him with the Rams.”
Jordan Schultz adds, “The Vikings reached out to Odell Beckham Jr. immediately after the Giants moved on and showed significant interest. Despite a 4-0 start, the offense has needed some juice. And OBJ will try to help bring that. His relationship with Justin Jefferson is a plus, as well.”
