The 2025 WNBA MVP runner-up is set to make her season debut after undergoing offseason surgery on both of her ankles.
Therefore, this puts Naphessa on track to make her season debut in Minnesota’s final contest before the upcoming All-Star break. And she is coming into a great situation. Her team has been absolutely dominating in the WNBA. Minnesota is 21-6 on the season, the best record in the league heading into the All-Star break.
Collier has been missing in action since last postseason. She has not played in a WNBA game since September 2025. More specifically, Minnesota Lynx star Napheesa Collier got hurt on September 26, 2025. The injury occurred inside the final minute of Game 3 of the WNBA Semifinals against the Phoenix Mercury, when she tore three ligaments in her left ankle and a muscle in her shin during a collision with Alyssa Thomas.
However, Collier’s recovery has gone extremely well and a return now looks imminent. While the WNBA All-Star has yet to play in a game this season; her team’s rookie has been holding it down. Olivia Miles is doing exceptionally well and is the clear frontrunner for the 2026 WNBA Rookie of the Year accolade. The Minnesota Lynx guard leads all rookies in scoring (19.6 points) and assists (6 per game) while even garnering MVP consideration for steering the Lynx to the top of the league standing.

Furthermore, it’s not just Miles. It’s what she’s doing with her teammates to terrorize the entire league. For instance, Kayla McBride and Olivia Miles made franchise history by each scoring 30+ points in multiple games this season. They also combined for 70 points against the Phoenix Mercury in mid-July (McBride 37, Miles 33), and notched 65 combined points a week later against the Seattle Storm (McBride 33, Miles 32). And Miles became one of just two rookies in WNBA history to post 32 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists in a single game.
The wild part? Now, Minnesota is about to add in Phee. This could be curtains for the league. But we shall see. Napheesa Collier averaged a career-high 22.9 PPG last season, finishing 2nd in WNBA MVP voting for the 2nd straight season. She joins a Lynx team that has the WNBA’s best record and has only lost six games.
