Lynx Announce Napheesa Collier Has Returned to Team Activities—Progressing in Her Rehab

One of the league’s most exciting and dominant players is nearing her return. The Lynx announce that Napheesa Collier has returned to team activities and is progressing in her rehab. It will be interesting and a lot of fun seeing how Phee fits back in the Minnesota dynamic with Miles and Howard in particular.

Olivia Miles has taken the WNBA by storm and has shown every team in the league that she does in fact mean business. As a rookie she has the Lynx sitting pretty on top of the WNBA standings (15-4). Which means they are ahead of the defending champs, the Las Vegas Aces that feature ballers A’ja Wilson, Chelsea Gray and Jackie Young. So no small feat, but Miles has made it look relatively easy with her smoove play.

Furthermore, now the Lynx are close to adding back their star player. An All-Star that has made three straight All-WNBA first teams, won the DPOY award in 2024, and has finished as MVP runner-up behind A’ja Wilson in consecutive seasons. And just the second player in WNBA history to finish a regular season with a historic 50/40/90 shooting season while averaging over 20 points per game.

The Minnesota Lynx released a brief statement via their official online team website. Regarding the Naphessa Collier injury update the organization revealed,

“The Minnesota Lynx today announced the following injury update on forward Napheesa Collier.

After undergoing surgeries on both her right and left ankles during the offseason, Collier has returned to team practice activities and continues to progress as expected. Further updates on her rehabilitation will be provided when available.”

Forward Napheesa Collier has been dealing with and recovering from injuries since last season. Collier had sustained a right ankle injury playing against the Las Vegas Aces on August 2, 2025. Additionally, during last year’s WNBA playoff series between the Mercury and the Minnesota Lynx; Collier injured her left ankle after colliding with Alyssa Thomas’ thigh. It was a season-ending injury for the five-time All-Star.

After undergoing an MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging), Collier was evaluated by team physician Dr. Elena Jelsing at Mayo Clinic Square, who made the discovery of the right ankle sprain. In the postseason Collier would be re-evaluated revealing a shin muscle tear and 3 torn ligaments in her ankle.

The road to recovery has indeed been long. But there finally seems to be light at the end of the tunnel. There wasn’t anything definitive from the Lynx’s statement, but this gives us the sense that Collier will still be back very soon.
