ESPN and Joe Buck have shook hands and got a deal done. Joe Buck and ESPN have agreed to a 6-year contract extension worth roughly $108M. The extension will keep him as the voice of “Monday Night Football” into the next decade.
According to Andrew Marchand of The Athletic,
“Buck’s yearly salary will rise from $15 million to around $18 million annually, according to the sources. He is in the final season of his current five-year, $75 million deal.
Buck’s partner, Troy Aikman, remains unsigned. Aikman’s five-year, $90 million contract with ESPN ends after the Super Bowl. Buck and Aikman are in their 25th season together, which is the longest-running television booth pairing in NFL history.”
So will the duo live on past this season? Will continuity survive with Buck and Aikman? Well, ESPN is keeping all lips sealed. It is still possible Buck has a new partner when this extension begins in 2027.
However, ESPN executive vice president of communications Josh Krulewitz at least offered up this tidbit,
“With this historic season for ESPN now underway, our entire focus is on bringing fans the best possible football coverage, culminating with our first Super Bowl,” ESPN executive vice president of communications Josh Krulewitz said. “To that end, we won’t be addressing talent contract specifics publicly before the Super Bowl.”

So then, we all will have to wait and see. After ESPN’s broadcasts the biggest annual game in American sports. Looks like they will finish making some football decisions.
Super Bowl LXI will air on ESPN for the first time in network history on February 14, 2027, with a simultaneous broadcast on ABC. Now the 57-year-old Joe Buck is set to sign a new extension to remain with ESPN for the next six years. Keeping him as one of the voices of the NFL schedule.
Buck is currently in his fifth year with ESPN. It is the final year of his deal, and he is set to call the Super Bowl once again when ABC and ESPN get the game in February of 2027. This means Joe will also be on the mic for the network’s next one in 2031.
