Yes, MVP Stephen Curry came through along with GP2, Podz and rookies Yaxel Lendeborg and Lajae Jones. In the 2026 NBA Draft, the Golden State Warriors selected forward Yaxel Lendeborg from Michigan with the 11th overall pick in the first round and guard Lajae Jones from Florida State with the 54th overall pick in the second round.
Nonetheless, the Valkyries have done well with drafting both in the expansion draft as well as the annual WNBA Draft. And they have been solid grabbing key pieces in free agency. On Tuesday morning it was revealed that the 2027 WNBA All-Star game is heading to San Francisco. The festivities will be held July 30 and July 31 at Chase Center.
So then, even more good times are on the way for the Bay. And Joe Lacob seems to be keeping to his promise and plan. Upon getting his own WNBA team, Lacob promised a championship in five years or less. With the Valkyries being a top 2 team in the WNBA standings and making the postseason yet again; looks like the dream could really become realized very soon.
