Commanders QB Jayden Daniels Has “Chance” to Play Against Colts in London
They are considered underdogs in this week’s matchup. But their leader “may” possibly return to the field soon to help the team get a victory. On Thursday, word emerged that Washington Commanders QB Jayden Daniels has “a chance” to play against the Colts in London this weekend.
This season has taken quite a turn for Washington. Just as quarterback Jayden Daniels started to feel comfortable coming off an injury-riddled sophomore season. He was then sidelined by an elbow dislocation once more. However, Jayden Daniels (elbow) practiced in a limited fashion for a second straight day Thursday. But a decision hasn’t been made regarding whether he’ll play Sunday against the Colts in London.
So then, Daniels is making progress in London as the team gets ready for Sunday’s big NFL matchup vs. the Colts. However, in no way did Jayden look 100%. Or completely good to go in his new arm brace.
After many meetings with specialists it was decided that Daniels would not require surgery to move forward with this current injury. But medical professionals made it clear that there is a risk. There is no guarantee that the elbow could not be reinjured. However, Daniels is not worrying himself about such an outcome occurring in the future.
Washington Commanders Quarterback Jayden Daniels said Thursday he has no concerns about reinjuring his left elbow and is “taking it day by day” on the possibility of starting against the Colts on Sunday in London.
When asked specifically about his thoughts about his brace and perhaps doing more damage in the future. Daniels said, “That’s what the brace is for. If I had that concern, I would have gotten surgery.”

Part of getting through the injury was choosing to not have surgery on the elbow, at least for now. Daniels said it was an option on the table. Both now and after the season. However, he decided against it because he felt it was his responsibility as a leader to play through pain the way so many of his teammates do.
Regarding powering through despite discomfort, Jayden says, “I love football. I play football, and I get paid to play football, so I owe it to my teammates,” he said, wearing a gray compression sleeve.
