Blue Jays Recall Charles McAdoo and Option Davis Schneider to Triple-A Buffalo
After going deep into the postseason last year, getting all the way to the Fall Classic. In 2026 Toronto unfortunately finds themselves dead last in their division. While it is looking like long shots to catch up with the likes of some AL leaders such as the Tampa Bay Rays, New York Yankees, Chicago White Sox and Boston Red Sox. Toronto is still not completely out of the playoff contention race. If they can finish strong, they could grab a final wild card spot. Therefore, to give themselves a better shot the Blue Jays have recalled Charles McAdoo and optioned Davis Schneider to Triple-A Buffalo, the team announced.
The Blue Jays made a number of roster moves and decisions by Monday afternoon. Toronto has also optioned Lazaro Estrada to Triple-A and selected Simeon Woods Richardson to the Major League roster. And have parted ways with C Willie MacIver as he was designated for assignment.
Bringing Charles back into the fold could prove to be a real game changer for the Blue Jays. McAdoo has been scorching hot in Triple-A. McAdoo is Toronto’s No. 12 prospect and he has homers in 4 straight games.
Moreover, Minor League Baseball just finished highlighting the successes of two of Toronto’s red hot prospects. Their prospects Charles McAdoo and Carson Messina earned International League Player of the Week and Florida State League Pitcher of the Week honors. McAdoo went 13-for-28 with 4 homers for Triple-A Buffalo, while Messina worked 5 no-hit frames for Single-A Dunedin on Friday.

Furthermore, now McAdoo is getting a second look with the Blue Jays this season. He’s put in the work and you can see the payoff. He’s been absolutely electric. His Triple-A numbers in 39 games after being sent back down on June 20: .290/.376/.503, 10.7 BB%, 24.7 K% with 8 homers and 7 doubles.
As one can undeniably see, the Blue Jays’ No. 12 prospect has raked since being sent back down to Buffalo on June 19. With eight homers, 30 RBI and an .880 OPS over 39 games. Most recently, baseball fans were treated to McAdoo’s fourth straight game with a homer. He also now has 13 RBI over his last six. Charles McAdoo begins his second stint with the big league club as they face the Boston Red Sox.
