American League Took Home the Victory in the 2026 All-Star Game on 250th American Anniversary
It seemed only fitting that the league would win this game. And they did it in fine fashion with a 4-0 triumph. The American League (AL) took home the victory in the 2026 All- Star game on the 250th American anniversary. And it happened in the city of Brotherly Love, the place where the Declaration of Independence was signed, Philadelphia. Indeed, two of the Philadelphia Phillies came close to winning the All-Star Home Run Derby. But Jordan Walker beat out Kyle Schwarber in the end to become the Derby winner.
The AL showed they were serious about winning the game when they took an early lead and kept it. Pitchers for the AL held nothing back as they held the NL stars to three hits. No NL runners reached second base, earning the AL’s 23rd win in the last 29 All-Star games. Proving that modern pitching has a very important role in the game. And it prompted the following comment:
“Baseball’s an uncomfortable sport as it is,” Cubs center fielder Pete Crow-Armstrong said. “So the pitchers are only adding to that.”
But of course, there is more to baseball than just pitching. The bases were loaded by a Yordan Alvarez single and walks from Shea Langeliers and Bobby Witt Jr. Then New York Yankee, Cody Bellinger lined a sharp single to center to score a pair, then teammate Ben Rice grounded one through the middle to send home another. Those heroics gave the AL a 3-0 and they cruised from there. In fact, Bellinger emerged with the Ted Williams Most Valuable Player Award.

Speaking about winning the MVP of the game, Bellinger said:
“Pretty special,” he said. “My first few years in the big leagues, I was here I think two of my first three years. I was, like, ‘Oh, I’ll be here every year.’ It took a long time to get back. It’s such a competitive league. It’s hard to be an All-Star. You know, health, performance, it all has to come together. Honestly, this one, I just really enjoyed it.”
“We’re all little kids at heart, playing this game,” Bellinger said after the American League’s 4-0 victory. “We all fell in love with the game at a young age. We’re all still those little kids with big dreams.”
The AL went on to ensure their victory in the eighth when Miguel Vargas of the surprise White Sox sent a solo shot to the second deck in left. Unfortunately, for the NL they couldn’t muster up even a single against the AL pitchers Dylan Cease, Parker Messick and Michael Wacha. Homerun Derby participant Junior Caminero took a hit on the outside of his left hand, but the scan came back negative.
Nevertheless, a good time was had by all, and all the MLB players got a much-needed rest.
