Reebok Signs WNBA Rookie and UCLA Champion Lauren Betts to Shoe Deal
It’s been a whirlwind for this rising star in women’s basketball. However, the rapid changes are only continuing. Less than 48 hours after being drafted into the Women’s National Basketball Association, sportswear giant Reebok signs WNBA rookie and UCLA champion Lauren Betts to a shoe deal.
Betts is a key component of the history making squad and roster that helped UCLA win its first championship in the NCAA era. Ending a 48 year drought. UCLA women’s basketball won its first national championship in 1978, when women’s college sports were governed by the Association for Intercollegiate Athletics. The AIAW was founded in 1971 and was replaced 10 years later when the NCAA began hosting women’s championships in the 1981–82 season. Now the Bruins enjoy a rich legacy of winning during both of these distinct periods of women’s basketball history.
Nevertheless, after becoming champions the Bruins also made history at the 2026 WNBA Draft. The Bruins became the first team to have five first- round selections, and the first with six players selected in the same draft. Lauren Betts, Gabriela Jaquez, Kiki Rice, Angela Dugalic, Gianna Kneepkens and Charlisse Leger-Walker all had their names get called.

So then, it’s been a wild couple of days and weeks for Lauren Betts. But now she is jumping into her pro career with a new shoe deal. The UCLA star and NCAA National Champion was selected 4th overall by the Washington Mystics earlier this week in the WNBA Draft. That was Monday night, and Reebok announced their deal with Lauren early Wednesday morning.
Regarding collaborating with Lauren and getting a deal in place, the brand stated,
“We would like to welcome Lauren Betts to the Reebok Basketball family.
The highly decorated 6’7″ All-American center is fresh off a national championship, where she earned accolades for her play.”
Nice. Furthermore, it seems like Reebok is quietly collecting WNBA players like Infinity Stones. Betts is joining the Reebok family that already includes names such as: Angel Reese, Dijonai Carrington, and Aneesah Morrow. Reese even took a moment to welcome Betts into the fold. Angel took to social media and said, “AHHHH! What’s up CHAMP!” Yes, this is exciting news and another win for women’s sports. Congratulations to Lauren Betts.
