Philadelphia Phillies First Team to 20 Wins in 2024 Season
For some it may still be early. However, Major League Baseball is really starting to take shape this year; with some teams beginning to ever so slightly pull ahead of the pack. With one month of baseball finally in the books, the Philadelphia Phillies are the first team to have 20 wins in the 2024 season.
A nice accomplishment for a ball club that has been steaming at full speed since a manager change in 2022. The Phillies have not only been making the playoffs; but going DEEP in them. They have a recent World Series appearance in their back pocket and they ready to add another.
Furthermore, with the way they have been playing so far this year; they may just get their wish. The bats are hot. For instance, Bryce Harper this season had a game where he hit not one; not two, but THREE home runs. This isn’t the first time Harper has done this either in his career. So it just shows that despite any previous injury; it’s having no effect on him still being elite.
And he’s not the only one in the Phillies lineup getting the job done. A good chunk of the roster has 14 or more RBIs. Plus, Kyle Schwarber has 8 home runs already. So Philadelphia has a very dominant group of guys, who are pretty darn clutch and permeate a winning culture.

Nevertheless, with 20 wins now. The Phillies thus far look poised to have a very good season. They appear strong and are playing with intensity.
However, there are other teams that are right on their tail. The Phillies play in the National League. And the Dodgers, Brewers and Braves all have 19 wins. And the Chicago Cubs hit 18 wins; so they are staying quite near the top of the pack.
Over in the American League, there a few teams also closing in on 20 wins fast. The Orioles, Yankees and Guardians are all tied with 19 wins. While the Royals and Tigers are close behind them at 18 wins for the season. There are still plenty of games left to be played today so many of these teams may hit 20 wins or inch closer to that mark.
Nonetheless, this tight race is fun to behold. And exciting to watch play out. So buckle up everyone it’s going to be a wild ride and finish!
