Milwaukee Brewers 2026 World Series Champions and William Contreras Named MVP
After an epic extra innings battle on Tuesday evening extended the Fall Classic to five games. The World Series Championship at long last belongs to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The Milwaukee Brewers are the 2026 World Series Champions and William Contreras has been named the World Series MVP.
The Milwaukee Brewers founded in 1970, have appeared in the World Series just once before. It had been 44 years since the Brewers last played in the World Series, in 1982. Then, in the American League, Milwaukee lost to St. Louis in seven games. But this time, the ending would be much happier and different.
The Brewers will now head home with this season’s bragging rights. After defeating the Tampa Bay Rays 4-1 and winning the WS in five. Furthermore, the franchise will officially scratch themselves off the list of ball clubs without a Commissioner’s trophy in their case. After 162 regular season games and a strenuous postseason; the Milwaukee Brewers take home their first World Series title in franchise HISTORY.
ESPN’s Jeff Passan summed up the big night by stating,
“FINAL: Brewers 4, Rays 1
For the first time, the Milwaukee Brewers are World Series champions. They did it for Milwaukee, they did it for Wisconsin, they did it for Ueck, they did it for themselves. This was 57 years in the making. And it was pure, beautiful, dominant baseball.”
However, Milwaukee winning this year should not really come as a surprise. They have been steadily improving and knocking on the door for years. Case in point, the Brewers won the most games and had the best run +/- two years in a row. Now their efforts and goals have come to fruition.
Nonetheless, Passan is right, what the Brewers did Wednesday night was for Milwaukee and all of Wisconsin fans. Major League Baseball and the NBA have now provided what this fanbase has been hoping for decades. To see an end the to wait. These Milwaukee sports teams ended some long time title droughts. The Bucks and Brewers both ended 50+ year championship droughts in the same decade! Good stuff!
While Brewers fans may still be in slight shock, no one may be as flabbergasted Cooper Pratt. Pratt made his official Major League Baseball debut back in June. Flash forward to October and he is now a World Champion.
A stunned Cooper Pratt joined FOX Sports’ Tom Verducci after becoming a World Series champion. When asked to describe the feeling Pratt could barely manage to say, “This is one of the greatest moments of my life! It doesn’t even seem real. It only took 4 months!”

While Pratt’s duration was short. Others on the team had to wait a bit longer for glory. Christian Yelich, the first captain in Brewers history; has spent 14 years in the majors. Now, Yelich gets his first World Series ring.
Christian says the Brewers worked hard to win the World Series for the legendary Bob Uecker who passed in January 2025. Yelich simply said, “This one’s for Bob. This one’s for Ueck. We love you man we did it.”
As mentioned, Williams Contreras is the 2026 World Series MVP. Which is nice to see because catcher’s aren’t always recognized for their hard work and efforts.
But Williams performance during the Fall Classic could not be ignored. William Contreras went off in the World Series: .381 AVG (8-for-21), 4 RBI. But really the entire team deserves accolades. They all did their parts and were truly the best in baseball. Congratulations to the Milwaukee Brewers!
