Details Are Being Leaked as NFL 2026 Schedule Is Set to be Released on May 14 2026

The NFL is a huge money-maker, so every event is treated like a special occasion. And the schedule release is among that group. Which is why a date is always announced as to when the schedule will be officially released. But keeping secrets is difficult especially when multiple people and organizations are involved. Therefore, it’s expected that details are being leaked as the NFL 2026 schedule is set to be released on May 14, 2026. Kicking off Sunday Night Football will be a classic battle between the New York Giants and the Dallas Cowboys.

This showdown will happen on September 13, 2026, at 8:20 p.m. ET at MetLife Stadium. If you can’t be there in person the game will be aired on NBC, Peacock, and NFL+. It was the Today show that let the cat out of the bag today. Of course, it makes sense that they would be the ones to tell everyone since the show airs on NBC. Plus, a marquee matchup between two established NFL teams will always grab attention. Just two seasons ago in 2024, the Giants celebrated their 100-year anniversary of the regular season. And the Dallas Cowboys were branded as America’s team years ago.

Despite the poor performance of the Giants last season, there are reasons to be hopeful. They have a new coach in John Harbaugh and a revamped secondary. Whereas the Cowboys have wide receivers Cee Dee Lamb and George Pickens along with new defensive coordinator Christian Parker. The Cowboys have veteran quarterback Dak Prescott, and the Giants have up and coming quarterback Jaxon Dart. So hopefully there will be some fireworks in the Sunday night showdown.

However, the Dallas Cowboys will be making another appearance. They will be featured on Thanksgiving Day at 4:30 p.m. ET. But this time they will be aired on FOX, FOX One and NFL+. It will be a home game for the Cowboys against the rival Philadelphia Eagles. Amazingly, since 1966, the Cowboys and Eagles have faced off on Thanksgiving just twice. Philadelphia has prevailed both times, winning 27-0 in 1989 and 33-10 in 2014.

The Eagles are looking to right their offensive ship after the debacle of former offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo. Sean Mannion is the new offensive coordinator of the Eagles, so he’ll have his work cut out for him. Nevertheless, we love finding out who will be playing whom and looking forward to the new 2026 NFL season.
