Defensive End Cam Jordan Signed New Agreement with New Orleans Saints for One Last Hurrah
There have been plenty of scary and extremely effective defensive ends in the league. Such as Reggie White, Deacon Jones, J.J. Watt and Bruce Smith. Reggie White was even nicknamed the “Minister of Defense” due to his power and agility. The subject of this article is no less incredible having racked up 10.5 sacks in 2025. In recognition of his prowess, defensive end Cam Jordan signed a new agreement with the New Orleans Saints for one last hurrah.
NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport provided details about the signing. Jordan signed a one-year contract to return to New Orleans for a 16th season. Per Rapoport, the deal is incentive laden. Jordan said:
“We’re gonna take everything the way we want to. Year 16, how many more years you want me to play?” Jordan said Tuesday. “I definitely am going to take to this like every game is my last to ever play.
“I’ma treat it like it’s final season with intention because I believe between God and my wife that’s the only two people that can get me back through.”
Jordan has also taken the top spot in franchise history, surpassing Ricky Jackson with 132 career sacks. Which also makes him 17th on the all-time NFL list, dating back to 1982. However, if he can get at least 6.5 sacks this upcoming season, he will crack the all-time top 10 in sacks. Jordan was taken by the Saints with the 24th overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft. And he has been a defensive terror for the team ever since. He has teamed up with players like Alvin Kamara and Taysom Hill both the fate of those two players has yet to be determined.

It took some time for this new contract to get done. He played on an altered deal in 2025 which he did not like. Nevertheless, the Saints and Jordan were able to resolve the financial issues and come to an agreement. The 8-time Pro Bowler and 3-time All Pro veteran is also a member of the NFL 2010s All Decade team. For his durability and leadership, he earned the 2025 Bart Starr Award.
The Saints started to get on a roll after their bye week last season. They won the last four games of 2025 despite finishing with a losing record of 6-11. But naturally they hope to change those losses to Wins in 2026. With signing his new contract, Jordan said he loves New Orleans and he is happy to be back. He also mentioned that he is appreciative of the Saints’ organization and the fans.
Congratulations to Cam Jordan on his one-year deal and returning for what fans hope will be an amazing season!
