Converse Unveils SGA’s Final SHAI 001 Releases as He Gears Up For Nike
One chapter is closing as another is about to get underway. However, the Oklahoma City Thunder superstar must finish a little business before he begins anew in his sneaker endeavors. Wednesday afternoon Converse officially unveiled SGA’s final SHAI 001 releases as he gears up for Nike.
Shai officially signed a multi-year deal with Nike as a signature athlete on June 16, 2026, leaving his former brand, Converse. How did SGA come to be with Converse instead of Nike in the first place? Well, actually SGA originally had an endorsement deal with Nike when he entered the NBA in 2018 before moving to Nike’s subsidiary, Converse, in 2020. He spent six years there, releasing his own signature line—the Converse Shai 001.
However, now Shai finds himself at long last officially on the main Nike roster. Joining prominent Swoosh signature athletes like LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Giannis Antetokounmpo. Nike confirms SGA’s brand swap stating,
“We are thrilled to welcome Shai Gilgeous-Alexander to the Nike Basketball signature family. Coming after back-to-back MVP seasons, we are excited to build on Shai’s incredible impact with Converse as one of the most creative leaders in the game.”
Currently, Nike has not mentioned when SGA will release a signature shoe. But for now, his fans and sneakerheads and snatch up his last Converse design and colorways. Instead of doling out each color separately, Converse has unveiled all of SGA’s final SHAI 001 releases, with three Lace Up colorways (Lime, Berry and Cheetah) arriving in Fall 2026.
This is the second and final construction of the SHAI 001 platform. Adult sizes will retail for $120 and Kids versions will be $100.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander commented on releasing his final shoes with Converse before departing for Nike. He says, “I’m excited for what’s ahead as I begin this new chapter with Nike. Before I turn the page, I still have a few things to finish with Converse. I’m proud of what we’ve built and look forward to seeing those pairs out in the world before embracing what’s next.”
SGA’s SHAI 001 Berry and Lime colorways will drop on August 14. And the Cheetah design will available on September 3.
