2026 USA Basketball FIBA Women’s World Cup Roster Officially Released

The most dynamic players of the WNBA are headed to Germany! The countdown is on and the tournament is now just one month away. Furthermore, now all the members of the team have been officially selected for the honor of representing their country. Thursday morning, the 2026 USA Basketball FIBA Women’s World Cup roster was officially released.

The team is highlighted by 12 athletes with extensive USA Basketball experience. They combine for 14 Olympic and nine World Cup gold medals. The team also features seven players making their World Cup debuts. The USA are seeking their fifth consecutive – and 12th overall – World Cup gold medal.

The 2026 USA Women’s National Team includes: Aliyah Boston (Indiana Fever), Paige Bueckers (Dallas Wings), Caitlin Clark (Indiana Fever), Napheesa Collier (Minnesota Lynx), Kahleah Copper (Phoenix Mercury), Chelsea Gray (Las Vegas Aces), Rhyne Howard (Atlanta Dream), Kelsey Plum (Phoenix Mercury), Angel Reese (Atlanta Dream), Breanna Stewart (New York Liberty), A’ja Wilson (Las Vegas Aces) and Jackie Young (Las Vegas Aces).

Copper, Gray, Plum, Stewart and Wilson all return to defend their 2022 FIBA World Cup title. Along with Collier and Young, the group will look to win their second major international women’s basketball title in the last three years. Having won gold at the Olympic Games in Paris back in 2024.

Nevertheless, USA Basketball Women’s National Team managing director Sue Bird discussed how proud she is of the selected players and the confidence she has that they will perform well. Bird says,

“I’m so excited to announce the 2026 USA Basketball Women’s National Team. This is an incredibly talented group that has earned the opportunity to compete in Berlin. Wearing a USA jersey is a privilege, and I know these 12 players will embrace that responsibility as we go after another gold medal. I can’t wait to see what this team accomplishes together.”

Nice. There’s also some history being made. As noted above, the Atlanta Dream’s Rhyne Howard and Angel Reese have been chosen to compete and represent Team USA. They now enter the history books as the first Dream duo in franchise history to represent the country together at a 5-on-5 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup.

Therefore, congratulations are in order for all of these talented women selected to represent USA Basketball. Team USA will battle the rest of world on the court at the 2026 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup in Germany from September 4-13.
