Los Angeles Lakers Start the 2024 Season 3-0
Winning is always a good thing. So far there are a few NBA teams to make it to the 3-0 club (and others have a chance to join today); and one of those organizations is the purple and gold. Yes, the Los Angeles Lakers are starting the 2024 Season 3-0.
The Lakers had been somewhat of a sleeping giant during the offseason. The storied franchise made some moves, but not very many. Of course, a big headline was the acquisition of Bronny James. A move that would allow NBA superstar Lebron James to be able to fulfill a longtime dream. The opportunity to play with his son, on the same team.
In the season opener this dream came to fruition. As both father and son made history taking the court for the first time. But snatching up Bronny, although a historical precedent that we’re not likely to see anytime again soon; is not likely the main catalyst that has Los Angeles seemingly on a fresh new path.

However, one of the biggest changes and decisions of the year came in the form of a new head coach. Darvin Ham out. JJ Redick in.
And although it is early, Redick is still doing one heck of a job. Etching his name alongside Phil Jackson. Seriously, hear us out.
By game two of the 2024-2025 season Redick had already proven to be one of the more successful Lakers coaches. As Newsweeks’ Matt Levine noted,
“Just two games into his NBA coaching career, Los Angeles Lakers head coach JJ Redick has already put his name next to a coaching legend. With the Lakers comeback win over the Phoenix Suns on Friday, Redick became the first coach for the Lakers to start a season 2-0 since Phil Jackson did so.
Jackson led the Lakers to a 2-0 start back in the 2011-12 season and nobody has been able to jump out to multiple wins in a row. Just considering how many coaches that Los Angeles has gone through, it seems that Redick is proving his worth early on.”
Yes, Redick has LA rolling. But Another great addition to the Lakers has been rookie Dalton Knecht. Redick called on Knecht to hit a key 3 pointer shot, and he did. This is an area that the Lakers have needed to improve in and JJ was a master at it. 3’s were his specialty. Therefore, we are sure he will aim to make Los Angeles an even bigger threat in this regard, and keep on building Knecht’s confidence as he continues to develop throughout the season.
