The Lakers season has come to its end. Leaving many unanswered questions as to how next year’s team may come to look like and resemble. Nevertheless, sources are bringing to light that LA’s biggest star may be bringing his son into the mix. Several members of The Athletic are stating that the Los Angeles Lakers are open to drafting Bronny James to fulfill Lebron’s “Dream.”
This news has some purple and gold fans in a frenzy. Some feel this is not the best way to build a championship team. The Lakers and their fans have come to develop a championship or bust mentality.
Stakes are high. The goal is win. Often, if not most years.
However, besides an In-Season Tournament win, the Lakers have found themselves without a championship in years. The last time they won was in 2020 (a sports year many do not count). Their last full season win and championship came in 2010. When Kobe was still playing.
Therefore, winning is at the top of the list for this franchise. And if keeping their top player happy means drafting his son, the Lakers are down to do it.
Is this bad for the NBA? No. Lebron James has made the NBA a TON of cash. Also, his longevity and star power helps to keep interest strong in the sport. Therefore, if anyone has earned the right for one of his dreams to come to fruition; it’s James.
Also, Lebron may be trying to add one more stat to his amazing career. To not only be a father and son playing in the NBA at the same time. But play on the same team and win a championship together.
There’s teams that would love to have Lebron and Bronny for that reason. Sells tickets and if they pull it off; it’s major legacy. Additionally, you’re probably going to get a very renewed Lebron James. Willing to give every last drop of energy to win the big one with Bronny. Therefore, for those reasons it’s easy to see why the Lakers are even considering the idea.

“The Lakers are open to drafting Bronny James this June to help fulfill LeBron James’ dream of playing with his son, team sources tell Shams Charania, Sam Amick and Jovan Buha. Bronny announced earlier this month that he will enter the 2024 NBA Draft.”
As one can see, there’s big decisions to be made. Plus, the draft is coming up fast. Just a few weeks away. Therefore, we may see this story play out real soon; and Bronny and his dad on the court vying for a title.
