Chicago Cubs First Team With Multiple 9+ Game Win Streaks in First 38 Games Since 1955
The Windy City keeps on blowing past its competition. Chicago hasn’t just had one major win streak this season, but a couple. In fact, the Chicago Cubs are the first team with multiple 9+ game win streaks in their first 38 games since the 1955 Dodgers.
As one can see, you simply can’t spell Wrigley Field without the W. And Chicago has been able to enjoy plenty of W’s at home and on the road. The ball club just won 15 straight at home. And have now gone on a 10-game winning streak for the second time this season.
Furthermore, this is the kind of history that Chicago has not witnessed in its franchise legacy in over 80 years. The ball club mentioned, “First time with multiple 10-game win streaks in a season since 1935. It’s May 8th.”

What also makes the Cubs so dangerous right now is that they can beat a team at any point of the game. They can get an early lead, but also don’t can’t them out in later innings. Case in point, this season the Cubs are also the first team with 3 straight walk-off wins since the Marlins in June 2024.
Therefore Chicago Cubs get their second 10-game streak 13 days apart from their last one. Due to these streaks Chicago now finds themselves on top of MLB standings. After defeating the Texas Rangers on Friday 7-1, they are the only Major League Baseball team with 27 wins. A five game lead on anyone else in the Cubs division.
The next closest team in terms of victories in the National League would be the Atlanta Braves over in the NL East (26 wins). After them the Los Angeles Dodgers (23); then the St. Louis Cardinals (22) and San Diego Padres (22). As for the American League there are two teams not too far behind the Cubs and interestingly they are in the same division, the AL East. The New York Yankees have won 26 games while the Tampa Bay Rays have amassed 25 victories. Long way to go still, but multiple teams are becoming standouts.
