Yankees Aaron Judge Leaves Game After Being Hit on Hand by Orioles Pitcher

The Yankees have been on a roll. With the inclusion of Juan Soto on the roster; number 99 and Juan have been one unstoppable duo. The pair has helped lead New York to 51 wins so far this season. The most in the American League AND National League. However, today is a scene no NY fan wants to see. Yankees Aaron Judge leaves the game after being hit on the hand by an Orioles pitcher.

New York is currently in the midst of battling it out in an important series against the Baltimore Orioles. While the Yankees may have 50 wins under their belt, the Orioles are majorly challenging them with 47 wins of their very own. With the two ball clubs in the same division; beating each other during the season could make all the difference at the end. Especially, if it is a “photo finish” and the two teams some how end up tied.

Nonetheless, Judge put up a good fight to stay in the game after being hit with a pitch. But eventually was pulled midway through the matchup. According to Yahoo Sports:

“[Judge] was hit on the left pinkie by a 94.1 mph fastball from Albert Suárez.

Gritting his teeth and flexing the hand, Judge went to first base in the third inning. He was examined by an athletic trainer and remained in the game. He scored on Giancarlo Stanton’s single and then went up the tunnel toward the clubhouse.

Judge played center field in the top of the fourth inning but was lifted for pinch-hitter Trent Grisham in the bottom half. The Yankees said Judge was going for imaging at New York–Presbyterian Hospital and will be examined by head team physician Dr. Christopher Ahmad.”

We hope the news on Judge is not severe. Also, it seems many teams are currently dealing with the challenge of injuries. The Dodgers lost Yamamoto and Betts. Phillies J.T. Realmuto is trying to work his way back by All Stars. Braves lost their ace Spencer Strider. And the Padres are still feeling the effects of being down Yu Darvish and Joe Musgrove.

With the trade deadline looming many teams will be taking a nice long look at their rosters. We could see some interesting trades in the near future. As each team tries to get on track and lock down a lineup that can take them to the playoffs.
