Wins By the Eagles and Bengals On Monday Night Football
The double header featured wins by the Eagles and Bengals on Monday Night Football. First up were the Eagles and Buccaneers. The Buccaneers had the first possession of the game but it ended with a punt. The Eagles took possession and quickly marched down the field. Jalen Hurts took a shot at the endzone but the pass was broken up. They went for a 4th and 2 but were not able to convert. I wondered why they didn’t just kick the field goal.
In the end it didn’t matter because the Eagles easily controlled the game. Britain Covey had a nice punt return in the first quarter. He was making guys miss all over the field. He returned the football for 52 yards and the Eagles cashed in with a field goal.
As for the Buccaneers this was their first loss. In the previous two weeks they played well and looked like they were having fun doing it. On Monday they seemed less cohesive. Baker Mayfield threw his first interception of the season and was not in sync with his receivers. However, ESPN put up an interesting chart. It showed the list of the EIGHT head coaches Mayfield has had since joining the NFL. That’s an insane amount of coaching. Although the Buccaneers didn’t play their best last night I think they will bounce back. They look like a scrappy, tough team to me.
Moving on to the Rams and Bengals game, it was an inconsistent affair. Both QBs had issues connecting with their receivers. But they also had some really great and exciting throws. I just wish there had been more of them. It was almost painful to watch the incomplete passes. The QB’s and receivers were not on the same page at various times throughout the game.

Joe Burrow is playing hurt and it shows. The calf injury is still a problem. However, if he can get healthy I’m sure the consistency will return for the Bengals. On a high note, the Bengals defense sacked Matthew Stafford six times! The Rams defense also did their fair share of damage, particularly Aaron Donald. He had a sack, two QB hits, and two tackles for loss. Joe Mixon and Puka Nacua and Joe Mixon were offensive bright spots for their respective teams. Both players brought a lot of energy to the game.
However, now that the week three dust has settled, the league is left with three undefeated teams. That would be the Eagles, Dolphins, and 49ers. Conversely, there are four teams yet to win a game. They are the Panthers, Bears, Broncos, and Vikings. What’s really funny is that these teams will be playing against each other in week 4. It’s the Vikings vs Panthers and Broncos vs Bears. So, at least two of the teams will be winless no more. Now the question is which two will prevail? But we’ll find out soon enough because Sunday will be here before you know it.
