Which NFL Teams Have Not Won A Super Bowl
As we await the 58th Super Bowl to commence this is a good time to ask a pertinent question. The question is which NFL teams have not won a Super Bowl. Having been in existence for several decades now you might assume that every team has accomplished the feat of winning a Super Bowl. However, not all of the current 32 teams can make that boast. Some can say they reached the Super Bowl and didn’t win. Others can’t say they have even been to the Super Bowl.
So then, the question remains, regarding which team has not won a Super Bowl. There are a total of 12 teams that have not won a Super Bowl. They are:
- Arizona Cardinals
- Atlanta Falcons
- Buffalo Bills
- Carolina Panthers
- Cincinnati Bengals
- Cleveland Browns
- Detroit Lions
- Houston Texans
- Jacksonville Jaguars
- Los Angeles Chargers
- Minnesota Vikings
- Tennessee Titans
In contrast there are two teams that have won six Super Bowl titles, the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New England Patriots. The San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys have won 5 titles each. And the New York Giants and Green Bay Packers each have 4 titles. These are traditional power house teams.
However, there are other teams that have made it to the Super Bowl but couldn’t close the deal. For instance the Buffalo Bills went to four consecutive Super Bowls (1990-1993) and lost all four games. The Minnesota Vikings have also been to the Super Bowl on four different occasions without winning. And then there are the teams that have not graced the big game with an appearance. They are the Cleveland Browns, Jacksonville Jaguars, Detroit Lions and Houston Texans.

Of course, the Detroit Lions came so close to getting their name off the list of never-beens this season. However, they blew a lead against the 49ers and lost the NFC Championship game. And the Cincinnati Bengals almost scratched their name off the list of 12. But the Los Angeles Rams got the better of them in Super Bowl LVI.
Both teams participating this year are no strangers to the Super Bowl. They each have a rich football history packed with milestones and Hall of Fame players. So Super Bowl LVIII is anyone’s game as the new generation step forward to stake their claim to fame.
