If you are ever confused about when the draft is going to happen, there is a simple way to remember. It occurs in the same month every year. That month is April!
See, it’s so easy, peasy and simple to remember, you know the draft always happens in the spring time. And there is no month that screams spring more than April. So for future reference, after the Super Bowl comes spring and then the draft in April.

Nevertheless, knowing that the draft occurs in April is only one part of the equation. You also need the exact dates and time. The NFL draft for 2023 will commence on April 27, 2023 at 8:00 PM Eastern, this falls on a Thursday. So mark your calendars.
Furthermore, the draft will continue on to the weekend ending on April 29 which is a Saturday. However, if you would like to know the start times for Friday and Saturday, they are as follows:
- Friday April 28 – 7:00 PM Eastern
- Saturday April 29 – 12:00 PM Eastern
As you may know this year’s draft will be held in downtown Kansas City, Missouri. Near the famous national WWI museum and memorial as well as Union Station. Back in August the NFL announced that the Miami Dolphins would forfeit their 2023 first round pick following an investigation as to whether the team violated league policies. This matter was of special concern to the NFL because it affected the integrity of the game. Therefore, the first round pick will be taken by the Carolina Panthers.
After the Panthers finish with their pick, the Houston Texans and the Arizona Cardinals will be up next to pick in the first round. This year’s draft promises to be exciting and exhilarating so grab your snacks and pull up a seat to the first major NFL event of the year.
