When Do NFL Playoffs Start?
Yes we know the first regular season game of the 2023 NFL season has not been played yet. So, is the question about when do the NFL playoffs start a bit premature? Maybe, but hey people are asking so we are answering. After all it never hurts to plan ahead. Especially if you believe that your team has a good shot at making the playoffs this year.
So then, is there a usual timeframe or month for the NFL playoffs? While the game days may change each year, you normally can flip on your TV and see the playoff battles going down during the month of January. Therefore, a good rule of thumb is just to associate football playoffs with the beginning of the year. Just keep January fixed in mind and you may never forget ever again.
However, what about this upcoming season? The playoffs will culminate with the Super Bowl in February 2024. Right now the general consensus of the top 4 Super Bowl contenders are the Kansas City Chiefs, the Philadelphia Eagles, the Buffalo Bills, and the Cincinnati Bengals. You might beg to differ about this and feel free to do so. After all that’s what good sports feens do.
We can expect those four teams to have some stiff competition. Other contenders hoping to make it to the big show could be the San Francisco 49ers, the Baltimore Ravens, and the Miami Dolphins may have something to say about it. These teams plus this years top contenders all made the playoffs last year. Can all of them do it again? We’ll have to wait and see.
While we await the games to begin here is the list of the 2023 NFL playoffs schedule:
Wild Card Round Sat. Jan. 13 – Mon. Jan. 15 with two games on Saturday, three on Sunday and one on Monday.
Divisional Playoffs Sat. Jan.20 – Sun. Jan. 21 with two games being played on each day.
Conference Championships – Sun. Jan. 28 Both the AFC and NFC Championship games will be played.
When Do NFL Playoffs Start
Which networks will air which playoff games has yet to be determined. However, if you care about watching the Pro Bowl on Feb. 4 you can catch it on ESPN and ABC. Yet, truth be told, we wish they would stop playing the game. It just feels like an unnecessary risk and it’s not very entertaining. How about some entertaining skills competitions? Just a suggestion.
So in about seven months we can kick back and enjoy the NFL post season. No matter which teams get in, the competition will be fierce and we can’t wait. Make your predictions now and let’s compare notes next year!
