Washington Commanders Traded Brian Robinson To Running Back Needy 49ers
As is often the case, teams get struck with injuries and that has been the case with San Francisco. After dealing with injury issues last season, this season Christian McCaffrey is one of the few healthy running backs in the room. Therefore, the Washington Commanders traded Brian Robinson Jr. to the running back needy 49ers. However, Robinson has also had durability issues, as he has missed at least two games in each of his three NFL seasons.
According to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter:
“Trade: Commanders are trading RB Brian Robinson to the 49ers in exchange for a 2026 sixth-round pick, sources tell ESPN.”
“The 49ers RB room has been banged up: Isaac Guerendo, Jordan James, Corey Kiner, and others have all missed time. Christian McCaffrey, who only played 4 games last year, has actually been the healthiest RB in camp. Now Brian Robinson Jr. joins the group in a trade between John Lynch and Adam Peters, who worked together in San Francisco from 2017–2023.”
“I like the skills that we’re seeing from Bill,” Quinn said. “And I’m encouraged by what I’ve seen so far. I know he was amped and ready to go for tonight, but he makes plays; he’s got quickness. I love the ball security that he had tonight. Those are important things that you can’t overlook.”
