Warriors Steph Curry Reaches 4,000 3-Pointers—One of the Greatest Shooters in NBA History

Call him Mr. 4,000. Golden State’s superstar constantly leaves our jaws on the floor. He makes some of the most wild, difficult shots you could ever see live. He shoots from the logo/half court and you find yourself not even doubting whether or not it is going in; you KNOW it is. That’s why most fans would agree, regardless of their team of choice; that Stephen is one of the greatest shooters that has ever played the game. If not, the GREATEST. On Thursday against the Sacramento Kings the icon adds to his legacy… the Warriors Steph Curry reaches 4,000 3-pointers.

If you are wondering if we have seen this before in the National Basketball Association. Search the history books all you want, but you will find no 4K entry. Steph Curry is the first player in NBA history to splash 4,000 career 3-pointers.

Moreover, Curry has transformed the NBA. So many teams and players try to immolate his style of play. Shooting from deep, not worrying about averages; but letting it fly and knocking down threes.

Nonetheless, going into Thursday’s matchup Curry only needed two threes. Basically child’s play for him. Steph achieved his 4,000 3PM feat with just 8 minutes left to go in the third quarter and the crowd lost their collective minds. And the cheering kept going for quite awhile.

And what made the night even more epic, is that the actual game was FANTASTIC. A real battle. The Kings wanted to take down the Warriors BADLY. And they gave Golden State a headache.

The Kings kept pulling close although they never took the lead. They would not go quietly into the night. If Golden State wanted to win they would have to keep their foot on the gas. And that’s exactly what happened. GSW did not letup and went on to finally put some long distance between them and Sacramento, and win 104-130.

Curry is the league’s all-time leader in made 3s. In his 16th season, Curry leads the NBA in 3s made per game (4.5) in 2024-25 and will most likely make about 60 more by the end of the regular season. However, could we see him reach 5k in his career?

Well, recently Steph Curry mentioned there’s more left in the tank and he wishes to keep playing. He is not at the “farewell stage” of his career and desires to play out his contract with the Golden State Warriors, which extends through the 2026-27 season. Curry who is turning 37 says,I know my contract is lined up and I’d like to outplay that, for sure.” So there’s still more time to see the Chef COOK.
